Developed by Invoke Studios, WARLOCK casts you as Kaatri, a seasoned warrior who makes a pact with dark forces. The role of Kaatri is brought to life by the award-winning Tricia Helfer (you may recognize her from Battlestar Galactica or Lucifer), adding a layer of depth and intrigue to the character. The game is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, promising a visually stunning experience.
But here's where it gets controversial... the game promises a unique blend of exploration and combat. Imagine using every spell as a key, unlocking new paths in a world that is both beautiful and unsettling. When facing enemies, you'll combine magic and melee for a combat experience that is both tactical and visceral.
"Working with our colleagues at Wizards of the Coast on a brand as rich as D&D has given the team the creative freedom and support to build a new ambitious open-world experience for players," says Dominic Guay, General Manager of Invoke. John Hight, President of Wizards of the Coast, adds, "Warlocks wield powerful, otherworldly magic, but it always comes at a cost." This is a core theme that will likely shape the narrative and gameplay.
And this is the part most people miss... While details are still under wraps, the gameplay debut is slated for summer 2026, with a planned launch in 2027. WARLOCK is a testament to Wizards of the Coast's commitment to world-building, expanding their portfolio with both original IPs and established universes. Invoke, based in Montreal, is a Wizards of the Coast studio, bringing together a team with experience on franchises like Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Deus Ex.
