Here’s the first look: a teaser trailer introducing Spider-Noir on Prime Video, presenting the Marvel Comics Spider-Verse’s iconic character in live action for the very first time. Nicolas Cage steps into the role of Ben Reilly, a weathered private investigator in 1930s New York who must confront his former life as the city’s singular superhero.
Cage’s performance blends world-weariness with the silhouette of a black-clad web-slinger, underscored by the memorable tagline: “With No Power Comes No Responsibility.” The trailer teases a noir atmosphere where grit and crime-fighting intersect, promising a fresh tonal take on a familiar hero.
Prime Video has also announced a May 27 premiere date, with the series releasing its episodes in a binge format. In a distinctive presentation twist, Spider-Noir will be accessible in two viewing modes: Authentic Black & White and True-Hue Full Color. The latter is notable because the original comics hovered in muted tones, making the color option a bold reinterpretation for fans.
The full cast features Lamorne Morris (Fargo), Li Jun Li (Sinners), Karen Rodriguez (The Hunting Wives), Abraham Popoola (Slow Horses), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin).
Spider-Noir is produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video. Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag) directs and serves as an executive producer for the first two episodes. Co-showrunners and executive producers include Oren Uziel (The Lost City) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher). Uziel and Lightfoot developed the series with collaborators Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, the team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
